Free Community College

Democratic Presidential candidate and Senator Chris Dodd has a plan to increase college accessibility: free community college. Free…if states pony up half the cost. Dodd’s plan calls for the federal government to work with states to subsidize in-state tuition at public community colleges for students earning credit toward an associate degree. Dodd’s program would match dollar-for-dollar up to half the cost of in-state tuition.
The Connecticut Senator says the program would cost about $6 billion over eight years, or about “two and half days in Iraq.”
